Hello Fellow Deviants and Gamer Nerds!
So, I've had quite a few people request to friend me on Facebook. I'm honored that you want to know more about me and appreciate my nerdiness, but I hope that (for obvious reasons) you will understand why I've chosen not to tell you my personal Facebook page's link. :)

Good news though? I've made a page just for the fans of awesome! :D So if you want to have epicly nerdy conversations, read nerdy and hilarious posts, and talk to others like you (as well as myself) feel free to follow the link and like the page! You know you want to... ;)

www.facebook.com/pages/The-Gee… <---- Have at it!

In the meantime, stay fabulous and kill zombies!

P.S: Juliet prints are a go! :D :D :D Not sure exactly when, but they will be available in the very near future!

Thanks! :) I hang here more too, but people have been wanting a different way to contact me. This fanpage is as close as they will get... for obvious reasons I don't want them knowing my personal info, so that is the next best thing...
And I'm glad you love my cosplays. It means so much to me that people appreciate it as an art form. If done well, I feel as though they can be amazing!

Actually I hang out here more anyway as I use this as GeekBook.

I get to see cool stuff, chat about games and comics, and don't have to hear about what anyone fed their 3 year-old for lunch

Me too. Haha! Trust me, I'm sick of all the people who like to tell me that they have a 1 year old and are now having another one... PUKE. I second your motion for using this as a GeekBook! Except mine's more cos-based... Obviously. lol

Obviously - but it is glorious cozzery! LOL

Although I have really taken a shine to this joint (even if it is run by 16 year olds and I find a select group of people to yak with while I hide from Malachi and the rest of the Children of the Corn)

I've kind of made it my own thing that definitely isn't art based (if you have seen my gallery) and I am weirdly known for my Journals. But it has a nice group of Gameheads, Heroheads, Sciheads, and all things Geekery.

My FaceSpace networking has really fallen off - according to my stats I make 50 comments here a day! *nerdshame*

Haha! That's pretty awesome though! You've found your niche! :D The reason I started putting my recent cosplays on here is because they are a form of art, and most people I know don't appreciate them as such. It takes so much time to make the costumes, then the accessories, then dress up and the BE the character you're portraying. It's very difficult if you do it correctly! I've found people on here are a little more open to geekery and individualism, which I 100% like!

Agreed. Honestly, cosplay confused me until I put in roots here. Now I truly see it what it all about and appreciate it as artistic expression. When it is done expertly - I have begun to grind my teeth at the 'sad' snozplay. Yes - I get it you are 15 and you have a scarf on your head - but you aren't Naruto. Then again I have seen plenty of 'art' on here Mommy wouldn't magnet to the fridge.

Your Juilet is awesome and you are a Nick Toss above the rest!

I agree. Not to hate on fellow cosplayers, but some of them just need to wait until they can actually finish the costume to post stuff, otherwise it looks kinda... terrible? (I shouldn't talk though- my Juliet still needs her legit chainsaw and her Nick head to be 100% finished!) haha!
Yeah. I agree about the "art." I mean, some characters warrant that, but some don't and people still make them that way. Unfortunate, really...

And thanks! I really hope to do her justice. She's an amazing character and deserves to be cosplayed correctly for that reason, not because she's a "sex symbol" to some individuals. :)

I have to admit during the opening cut scene I was about to shut it all down and return it as just a game for 'boys to play without pants'. By the time I finished the High School I was in love with her.

As a 'Geek girl' and a 'Gamer girl', I love her because she really is a strong female character. She is cute without being sickening. She isn't 'butch' or an 'air head spaz' - roles her sisters adopt. She's more than a short skirt to spin the cam stick for a panty shot. She's smart, strong, funny, psychotically upbeat, and that makes her sexy - not one-dimensional fanservice in cheerleader garb.

I don't think there is one poorly written line of dialogue between her and Nick. (I even felt bad for Swan at the end - he appreciated her for who she was too). She really is the middle sister and perfect ground for game girl for gamer girls. She isn't 'cold butch bad ass' or '*teehhe* spaz'

She's Juilet.

She's a little slice of true to life geek girl.

That's why I love her.

Exactly! It kinda makes me mad how they marketed the game and her persona, but despite that she really represents what a strong female character is. Sure, she says slutty things like "I can do this much better in my clear Lucite heals," but hey. She doesn't actually DO slutty things. I mean, she tries to cover herself if you attempt to look up her skirt. LIKE A NORMAL GIRL WITH HIGH SELF ESTEEM WOULD DO! :highfive: She kicks ass and isn't a flat character *Cough-Laura Croft-Cough*. She appeals to both guys (looks) and girls (personality and behavior). This is why she wins in my book! :D

And yes. A lot of the reason I love this game is because of the dialogue. Probably the most quotable dialogue in a game ever! "I fucked up. It's yellow." :lmao:

Such is the way of Boobs and Brains survival in the Boys Club.

I'll send you a note later-esque about some tips I've learned the hard way about maintaining Internet persona.

Exactly. Same with being a lecturer at a college. I painstakingly try to keep my personal life in a box away from my professional life. And even though I get paid to teach people about writing and being creative and I am permitted a certain amount of eclecticism - I have to make sure what I write as a writer and my general free-spirited nonsensical self doesn't anger the gods who pay me to teach as a writer. It is ridiculous.

I feel like I'm all 4 Ghostbusters at once trying not to cross the streams.

When I decided to attempt light hearted mocking essays and blogging about Geekery & Geek Girl Life (which is what I really love doing) I had to create a whole separate persona because god forbid I poke fun at something and then have to write a 'serious' article about it as the same 'person'.

We are far beyond 1984 - everybody on the Internet is Big Brother to everyone else.

And god forbid anyone encounter my DA where I run about like a nonsensical barefoot whack-a-doo LOL

Dude. That sucks more than my situation, I feel like. I'd hate to have my writing dictated by the evil forces who pay me $$$ to teach what it is I'm passionate about. :-O I'm just screwed because, well, yeah. Look at Juliet... lol

And if they find your DA page and give you crap about it, claim you have no idea what they're talking about. ;)

It isn't as bad as all that. I am on staff because I write crap. LOL I'm the Market Writing Girl - so it is my job to teach about SF and fantasy and zombies and soft-core vampire porn thanks to Twilight and even *shudder* pop culture and video game freelancing. While it is definitely frowned upon in literary circles, it is a cash cow and my job is to take it seriously and teach how to do it well. Not an awful gig. And because of it I am permitted to dress a bit strangely (professional Goth/Geek) and act a bit whifto. Besides I am known for my light writing and a rep for a tongue-in-cheek style, bizarro tangential stream of conscious nonsense and defining culture in my own terms and word bending ways. That's all good.

BUT when you get addicted to The Guild and decide you want to ascend the throne of Geekery and become the Felicia Day of Words and set off to write things like 'An Open Love Letter to my Rock Band Avatar' and 'An Interview with Dr. Strange: WHY ARE YOU SO USELESS!' you should best insulate yourself in case someone takes it you are having a nervous breakdown. :)

And after all that bottled up split-personalityness and deciding on DA why not just free-spirit it and be your utter complete geeky girly self - you sort of brand yourself as You. It really is odd that. And you somehow get the rep as 'the girl who jumps around barefoot in mud puddles'

You are right - NO ONE better find this EVER! LOL
